What is a web presence?
Being "on the Internet" is a bit vague and could mean many different things. We use the term "Internet Presence" to describe all or any of the possibilities, but more specifically, being "present" and visible on the Internet so that other people can find you. Here are some of the things your Internet presence might include:
  • Access to the Internet
  • E-mail address
  • Website
  • Listings in directories, search engines, etc
  • Other communication tools
What does a web presence do for your company?
Some organizations really don't have much use for the Internet, in fact many small businesses survive without a computer at all. However, if you're in business or if you represent an organization of any kind, then we can almost guarantee that some sort of Internet presence will benefit you. It may be a full-blown website, it may be a lower-cost alternative, it may be a simple listing in a directory. In any case it makes sense to explore the options.

Can I design a website on my own?
Designing a good website is the art of presenting relative information to your customers that is not only aesthetically pleasing and functional, but it must be easy to use, and conform to a central design. As if that wasn't bad enough, in order to prevent your website from becoming stale, you need to have current and relative information, as well as frequent updates. In order to achieve this, you need to know something about programming, and that usually means learning languages like HTML, PHP, CSS, JavaScript, Flash, and many other tools used in basic web design. The appearance of a webiste can have a big effect on how customers view your organization. While a well put together website can make your customers feel at home, a website lacking in good design principles can have the opposite effect.
